WEB GEMS- Top 2nd: Nomar Garciaparra robbed Dustan Mohr of a base hit.
Center fielder Carlos Beltran homered and had 2 RBI at the ballpark where the
Santa Fe Trailer Bitches beat the pitiful Dominican Republicans 6 to
1.
Santa Fe wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring a single
run using 2 hits. Dustan Mohr doubled. Ryan Klesko stepped up to the plate
and he drew a walk. Phil Nevin then banged out a one-base hit to load the
bases. Two outs later Jeremy Bonderman came to the plate and let loose a
wild pitch scoring the run. Santa Fe had 12 hits for the game and Dominican
had 3.
The win went to Kelvim Escobar(9-6) who allowed 1 run in 5 and 2/3 innings.
Escobar got help from Glendon Rusch who earned his 1st save. The losing
pitcher was Bonderman(5-15). He allowed 4 runs and 9 hits in 7 and 2/3
innings.
